Setup
How to set up your modem dialer.
The specific procedure to set up your computer to dial the Internet over a modem will depend on who is providing your dialup Internet connection. If you have an Internet Service provider other than Internet Performance, then you should follow the instructions from that Internet Service Provider.
If you are dialing Internet Performance for your Dialup Internet connection, then use the following directions.
This procedure will show you how to set up one dialer for all
your internet programs. See Two
Ways to Dial the Internet for a description of the alternate
methods. You will need to start dial up networking before you use internet programs like Web Browsers or e-mail programs.
Before you start setting up dialup networking, you will need a
dialup User ID. and Password. If you do not already have these,
contact us before trying to set up dialup networking.
