Problem Fixes
Problems sending E-mail
First, test your ability to connect to the internet, see if you
can get to your web site using a web browser.
If you can not reach your site with a web browser, see I
can't get to my web site.
If you can get to your web site with a web browser, but can not
send e-mail, then try these things.
If you have never set up your E-mail reader before, see Setting
Up Your E-mail.
If you have an e-mail account here, sending e-mail from the e-mail server here
will require:
SMTP Mail server name
User ID
Password
Be accessing the mail server from the correct Internet address
Mail server name, should be MAIL.YourDomainName.com
User ID, is the part of your e-mail name that comes before your domain name. If your e-mail address is someone@YourDomainName.com, then the user ID is "someone".
Note that this is not the same thing as your dialup user ID.
The password should not be visible anywhere. You need to remember it, write it down or have your mail program remember it. If you write it down, try to store it away from your computer. If you forget your password and do not have it written down, give us a call and we can give you the password or issue a new one.
In order to prevent spammers from using our mail server to send their spam, we require
the sender to log in using their email address and Password.
If you are connecting to the internet from a provider other than Internet Performance,
you can use their mail server to send mail. Use the setup that they recommend for sending mail.
If you are using the email server at Internet Performance to
send your email, and you are still having problems give us a
call.
