T1 Features:

  • Full time, high speed T1 connection. No usage or per minute charges, it is always on.
  • Up to 1.544 Mbps (approx. 1500 Kbps) for full T1
  • T1 is a dedicated connection from point to point, not shared like DSL, cable, or frame relay.
  • 24/7 uptime monitoring
  • Available almost everywhere.
  • T1 is the most reliable type of connection. T1 fails less frequently than other connections, and gets repaired sooner. T1 gets high priority 24/7 repair from the phone company.
  • IP addresses are readily available with T1. You will have to justify the need for addresses, but you can get all you need. T1's frequently get a full "Class -C" or 256 addresses. Additional addresses may cost extra. Note: addresses are usually between difficult to impossible to get with DSL or cable. When addresses are available with DSL or cable, you may end up paying as much as a T1.
  • Addresses are constant. With DSL, your address may change sometimes.
  • Web servers and mail servers usually need fixed addresses. If you will be hosting your own web servers, mail servers, etc. T1 is the best choice.
